Surgical Judgment
Clear Steps
We pair advanced technical skill with common-sense communication, ensuring you move from a place of uncertainty to a clear, clinically sound plan.
A Steady HAnd
At Helios Neurosurgery, we meet clinical complexity without chaos. We believe that true surgical confidence comes from proven competence, deep technical breadth, and meticulous preparedness.
Advanced Evaluation
We provide advanced cranial, cerebrovascular, and spinal evaluation for patients across the Phoenix Valley and the broader Southwest regional referral network.
Conditions We Treat
Neurosurgical challenges require an analytical mind and a highly structured diagnostic approach. We provide specialized care, deep clinical insight, and structural evaluation for complex diseases of the brain, spine, and central nervous system:
Cranial & Cerebrovascular
- Aneurysms: Structural weaknesses in cerebral arteries requiring precise evaluation.
- Arteriovenous Malformations (AVMs): Complex tangles of abnormal blood vessels in the brain.
- Chiari Malformations: Structural defects in the base of the skull affecting brain tissue.
Tumor & Skull Base
- Gliomas & Glioblastomas: Primary brain tumors demanding immediate, aggressive strategic intervention.
- Meningiomas: Typically benign but critically located tumors arising from the protective membranes.
- Colloid & Pineal Cysts/Tumors: Deep-seated masses affecting fluid pathways.
Spine & Spinal Cord
- Degenerative Spine Conditions: Comprehensive management for chronic structural changes.
- Herniated Discs & Stenosis: Alleviating debilitating nerve compression and spinal narrowing.
- Spondylolisthesis & Complex Spine: Correcting instability and spinal alignment.
- Spine & Spinal Cord Tumors: Delicate removal of primary and metastatic lesions.
Advanced & Appropriate Procedures
We utilize advanced, clinically appropriate surgical techniques to protect and restore neurologic function. We do not chase flashy technology for its own sake; we select the dynamic intervention that offers the safest, most effective path forward for the patient’s long-term recovery.
Endoscopic Procedures
Utilizing high-definition scopes for specialized, minimally disruptive pathways, including transsphenoidal approaches for pituitary tumors and endoscopic third ventriculostomy.
Endovascular Treatments
Minimally invasive, catheter-based interventions to treat complex vascular lesions from within the blood vessels.
Keyhole & Minimally Invasive Surgery
Ultra-precise cranial approaches leveraging natural corridors- such as the eyelid or eyebrow- to minimize recovery time and cosmetic disruption.
Spine Procedure & Reconstruction
Tailored surgical stabilization utilizing advanced spine instrumentation and fusion techniques to restore structural durability and biomechanical integrity.
Tumor & Radiosurgery
Highly targeted, precise surgical resection paired with stereotactic options to address skull base and deep-brain lesions.

Meet Dr Michaela Lee
Fellowship-Trained Spine and Cerebrovascular Neurosurgeon Dedicated to Precision, Partnership, and Patient-Centered Care.
Dr. Michaela Lee is a board-certified neurosurgeon specializing in complex spine, cerebrovascular, and skull base surgery. She completed her neurosurgical residency at The George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where she also pursued an enfolded fellowship in complex spine surgery.
To further her expertise, Dr. Lee completed a prestigious Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Fellowship at the Barrow Neurological Institute under the direct mentorship of Dr. Peter Nakaji- one of the most widely respected authorities in neurosurgery. She also heavily utilizes minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques that explicitly support faster, smoother recovery timelines for her patients.
Dr. Lee founded Helios Neurosurgery on a clear principle: Be a good human while treating them. Her clinical philosophy trades performative drama for clear, quiet command, ensuring every patient and referring physician experiences unparalleled technical capability delivered with genuine respect and approachability.
Collaborative Continuity: Team And Administration
We match Dr. Michaela Lee’s technical breadth with an administrative approach that strips away typical healthcare friction. Our practice operates without the detached, bureaucratic coldness often found in traditional specialized clinics. Instead, our leadership team ensures that every scheduling coordinator, medical record transfer, and peer-to-peer referral intake is handled with efficiency, clarity, and genuine respect for your time.
We are here to bring order to complex situations, transforming a stressful medical milestone into a structured, trusted path forward.
